This 12-hour intensive course views the many challenges of autistic existence from a broad perspective, rooted in neurodevelopment. Judith Bluestone’s highly acclaimed second book, The Fabric of Autism, provides the basis for the concepts and practices taught in this course.
In this course you will:
- Learn to apply insights from The Fabric of Autism
- Learn the HANDLE perspective on recent ASD research and other therapies
- Explore how to use the activities in the FOA and recognize signs of stress as
expressed by people along the Spectrum
- Start to interpret the messages “Autistic” behaviors may be saying about system
irregularities
- Discover how to apply the tools you have acquired to help individuals on the Autism
spectrum.

Ricki Robinson, M.D., M.P.H., a nationally recognized physician and speaker in the field of Autism Spectrum Disorders is co-director of Descanso Medical Center for Development and Learning in La Canada, California, Clinical Professor of Pediatrics at the Keck School of Medicine and Senior Attending Physician at Children's Hospital Los Angeles. She had been in private practice for almost 30 years, specializing in children with developmental delays for the past decade.
She has been actively involved in the field of autism since 1990 and is a central figure in CAN (Cure Autism Now), the interdisciplinary Council on Developmental and Learning Disorders, (ICDL) and the Floortime Foundation. She has organized autism task forces in Southern California medical centers stimulate research efforts. in addition, Dr. Robinson organized and chaired a nationally recognized task force to define the standard of care for clinical trials in autism.
